Meet Nick

Nick is a 43 year old male with Down’s Syndrome. His needs include support with personal care, medication, housekeeping, and support to access community facilities.

Nick was originally introduced to Cornerstone as an emergency placement as his elderly mother could no longer care for him at home.   We knew that there would be many emotional factors to be considered in providing Nick with appropriate support however with the right kind of help Nick has exceeded everyone’s expectations and settled into his new home particularly well!  He now receives support 24 hours a day from Cornerstone in his home which he shares with his flat mate.

Nick is now far more independent and has enjoyed several foreign holidays with the support that Cornerstone provides. He is also supported to maintain regular contact with his family and friends, attend family events and to buy presents for the people he cares about at Christmas and birthday times.
