Cornerstone Challenge Awards Ceremony 2011

Scene 1 Take 1 - What is it?

The Cornerstone Challenge aims to promote health and fitness while raising funds for Cornerstone through participants generating sponsorship. By taking part you can help Cornerstone support people throughout Scotland with disabilities and other support needs to live independently, take part in activities they enjoy, get a job and make new friends.  Read about the work we do and the people we support under “Meet Us” above. 

The Challenge is a 30 day test of stamina, determination and teamwork. Teams of up to 30 people aim to get as far round our virtual route as they can by either walking, running, jogging or cycling. The route this year takes you round the world visting the locations or settings of Oscar winning films.  Each participating team member completes as many miles as they can during the 30 day period and then the miles are recorded on the website by the team leader every day.  At the end of the Challenge there will be a grand Oscar-style award ceremony in recognition of all your hard work!

Scene 1 Take 2 - When is it?

The Challenge runs from one minute past midnight on 1st September until midnight on 30th September.  Every mile completed by every team member in that time either running, walking, jogging or cycling will count towards the team total and move you along the route.

Scene 1 Take 3 - How can I get involved?

The first step is to register using the button above.  This is a quick, painless task. Once registered you will be able to log into the “registered team” area of the website. Here you will find all sorts of helpful information and downloads, such as a team recruitment poster, help and advice on fundraising and sponsorship sheets.  We will then process your application and send you your goodies. 

Print off a sponsor form from the resources in the registered team area or set up your Just Giving, Just Text Giving or Virgin Money Giving page and tell all your friends, family and work mates that you are taking the Challenge for Cornerstone.
